FRIENDS BOOKSTORE at the MAIN LIBRARY
Duties include greeting and engaging the public with great customer service, operating the cash register, charge and debit card machines, stocking books, receiving and directing phone calls. Must be 18 years of age or over. This is an ongoing volunteer activity with a commitment to one or more three-hour shifts per week. Due to the training and level of responsibility involved, Friends asks volunteers to make a six-month commitment.

Shifts: During open bookstore hours. Volunteer shifts are 9:30 am – 12:30 pm, or 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm.
Location: Main Library at 100 Larkin Street. The bookstore is located at the 30 Grove Entrance.

ONLINE SALES
Once a week, help pull books that have been sold online and get them ready to get shipped off to their new home. If you love independent and quiet work then this is the opportunity for you. Currently looking for someone to help on Fridays.

BOOK DONATION CENTER
Help us sort and inventory donated books and media so we can sell them in our Friends Bookstore, Step Sales, and future community book sales.

Shifts: 3+ hour shift anytime weekdays 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: 1630 17th Street

BRANCH LIBRARY BOOK PICK-UPS
We need volunteers to help us pick up donated books at neighborhood branch libraries and take them to our Book Donation Center. Must be able to pick up a 30 lb. box of books. Must have a valid driver’s license and must use your own vehicle. We currently need help at Park Branch, Vis Valley, and North Beach.
