The Brown Handler Interviews

Writing in Lockdown: A six-week interview series
brought to you by Friends of the SFPL

Episode 1:  Shruti  Swamy  and   Daniel  Handler

Shruti Swamy, Brown Handler Resident and author of the forthcoming collection of short stories A House Is A Body from Algonquin Press, kicks off our new reading and conversation series, Writing in Lockdown. Each of the six writers in the program read a selection from a work they've created during their time as a Resident at Friends, followed by an intimate conversation with either Lisa Brown or Daniel Handler.  To see all of the interviews, visit FriendsSFPL.org.

Shruti reads the short story "The Siege," and discusses writing in isolation, favorite library branches, and the publishing industry with Daniel Handler.
