Join us for our monthly poetry series celebrating the Latinidad of the Latino Cultural District. This series focuses on the experiences of people of color in the Bay Area, featuring local poets chosen from the Mission’s deep literary culture. Each reading features an established poet and a newcomer. You can join our Facebook page for more!

The series is presented by Friends and curated by a committee of Misión based poets, including San Francisco Poet Laureate Kim Shuck. Interested in reading or joining our committee? Contact brenda.salguero@friendssfpl.org or call 415-477-5223.

Note: Thursdays en la Misión is a curated reading. The participating poets are invited to read and the schedule is set up well in advance of the events. Only when a scheduled poet cancels too late to locate a substitute do we revert to an open reading format.
