Visitacion Valley

The new Visitacion Valley Library will be built on a city-owned parcel on Leland Avenue and Rutland Street. At 8,500 square feet, the new library will be considerably larger than the current library which occupies a small rented store front. The architecturally stunning design for the branch features several courtyards for outside programming, a separate teen area, a program room available for community use, and environmentally friendly building components.

Designs are being finalized and construction is scheduled to start sometime early 2009. A committee to raise funds for the furniture, fixtures, and equipment will be formed this summer. Help make the new Visitacion Valley Library a real neighborhood resource!
