The Park Branch Library was built in 1909 in the neo-classical style and was renovated in 1990 for seismic retrofitting and disability access. Thus, the upcoming renovation will focus on updating the interior of the library while preserving the historic aspects of the exterior.

The Branch celebrated it's Centennial on October 29th, 2009 and commemorative posters of the occasion, beautifully designed by Wendy Wright, are available for a donation of $10. Proceeds will benefit the Park Branch Library Campaign to furnish and equip the branch. Please contact Mary Abler. If you would like to make your donation online, please click on the "Become a Donor" link on the right, designate your gift to the Neighborhood Library Campaign - Park Branch and in the naming opportunities line, type POSTER. You will be contacted to arrange getting your poster to you!

Currently scheduled to begin in late 2009/early 2010, the branch will only remain closed for renovations for about a year and Friends will be forming a committee to help with fundraising for the furniture, fixtures and equipment. If you are interested in seeing how you can help revitalize your neighborhood library, we hope you will join us for an informal gathering on November 16, 2009. Details below.
