Neighborhood Library Campaign
Glen Park
The Glen Park Branch Library was the smallest in SFPL system and was moved from a leased space, to city-owned property. Thousands of people joined us at the Grand Opening of the Glen Park Branch Library on October 13, 2007 including Mayor Gavin Newsom, Supervisor Bevan Dufty and Assemblymember Fiona Ma. Anticipating a large crowd, we closed Diamond Street and we had a real street party to celebrate the brand new facility, which is six times the size of the old leased space on Chenery Street. The Glen Park Committee did a fantastic job reaching and surpassing their goal for the furniture and fixtures in the branch, but there are still many ways to get involved.
