Bernal Heights


The Bernal Heights Branch is a beautiful WPA building that was built in 1940. The renovation, which began in 2008, will include seismic retrofitting as well as ADA accessibility, while preserving the wonderful historic character of the existing building.

Bernal Eats is a collection of recipes, tips, essays and meal planning strategies for busy parents as well as artwork and photographs submitted by over 65 community members.  Pick up your copy and support the Bernal Heights Library Campaign!

Attractive Bernal Heights Branch Library tote bags with an image of the historic light fixtures in the branch are available for only $15 a piece. Contact Mary Abler at (415) 626-7512 x107 or mary.abler@friendssfpl.org for information about purchasing a tote bag.

Your donation to the Bernal Heights Library Campaign will help to furnish and equip the renovated branch. All donations are tax deductible and can be made in installments spread out over a period of time (with the exception of engraved tiles). Checks should be made out to Friends of the SFPL.
