Mission Book Sale and Drive
Thanks to all who came out June 12-14, 2009
Friends would like to extend a special thanks to all who came out to the Mission Book Sale to make it a success. Friends raised over $32,000 for education programs that promote literacy for children, teens and adults. The Mission Book Sale was our first large-scale, outdoor sale and our first Donation Drive.
Held at John O’Connell High School in San Francisco’s Mission District, the Mission Book Sale and Drive boasted over 75,000 books in over 50 categories, including foreign language books. Over 100 volunteers ensured the sale a splendid success.
Part book sale, part book drive, the event encouraged book lovers to bring their old books and purchase new ones at the same convenient location.
The sale also featured DVDs, CDs, books on tape, cassette tapes, vinyl, VHS, and other forms of media.
