Help Out
Through the generosity of individuals, foundations, and civic-minded corporations, Friends provides funding for a variety of services and programs that contribute to the excellence of the San Francisco Public Library. Our unique public/private partnership helps meet the costs of providing open access to a superior library system that is free of charge to all.
You can donate a variety of ways through membership; individual, foundation and corporate contributions for the Neighborhood Library Campaign; for library programs, or where the need is greatest.

We are renovating16 branches, moving four from small, leased spaces
to larger, city-owned buildings, replacing three branches with
new buildings and one brand-new branch was constructed in Mission Bay
(opened in July 2006).
We are strengthening communities, promoting access to knowledge, supporting education, and making
San Francisco a better place to live.

Membership has many benefits. Attend special literary events, receive book discounts and make new Friends. A membership gift at any level makes a real difference to our library and community. Contact Kristin Hatch at 415.626.7512, ext. 104, or
