Gift Planning  – Friends Raising Funds

Ensure that your support will live on as an ongoing gift to future generations by including Friends of the San Francisco Public
Library in your estate plans. Making a planned gift provides needed resources for future library users. Your gift can extend the
joy you have experienced at the Library to others, while giving you substantial financial benefits and tax savings.

A legacy gift represents your values and creates a lasting impact. You may choose to designate support for general purposes of the
Library, or your favorite section or function of the Library, such as children’s programming, exhibitions, library staff development,
etc. Either way, you will feel deeply rewarded by the knowledge that your investment will have a beneficial impact on our
community for years to come.

There are a variety of ways to make a charitable, planned gift. One of the simplest is to give through your will or living trust. You can also make the Library a beneficiary of your retirement plan.

Various types of Charitable Trusts can provide specific benefits such as reductions in estate taxes, elimination of capital gains, and tax deductions that support your financial plan both now and in the future, as well as other benefits. a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) or Charitable Lead Trust (CLT) can be a powerful tool for allowing you to make a significant gift to the Library while also providing tax advantages.

Grateful to our dedicated donors, we recognize those who have provided for Friends of San Francisco Public Library in their
estate plans by inviting them to join the Legacy Circle. If you have already made a legacy gift, please let us know; if you intend
